78th Annual Loggers Jubilee
Every year for 78 years, the second weekend of August, the town of Morton opens its doors and welcomes all to come and have a good time. The Logger's Jubilee has become a celebration for people of all ages. From the Main Street Parade to the Lawnmower Races, Bed Races, and the Jubilee Queen Coronation, Morton's Loggers' Jubilee promises a good time for everyone. Some of the most interesting features of Jubilee weekend is the Saturday grand parade, sporting junior events, floats, marching units, clowns and displays of logging equipment. It has been called one of the best logging show parades in the country. This is one of the grandest events in Lewis County and the entire Pacific Northwest.
Some of the top competitors in our country show their skills. Events included in all hows are: axe throw, choker setting, birling (log rolling), single and double bucking, stock and hot saw, springboard chop, speed climbing, tree topping, vertical and horizontal chop, obstacle pole bucking, Jack N' Jill, and Jill N' Jill bucking. This isn't a lost art form, this is reality!
