Westside of White Pass

Orr Creek  Elevation 3,000 feet. Trail system 154 miles This site is in a mature and varied forest setting interspersed with mountain meadows and geographic features, north and west of Mt. Adams Wilderness. Parking for 35 vehicles. Shelter with wood stove. Trail system includes 154 miles. Vault toilets are located near Takhlakh Lake and Midway Meadows. Johnson Creek   Elevation 2,450 ft. 40 spaces, 154 miles of trail. Johnson Creek is temporarily located at the junction of HWY 12 and Forest Road 21 due to heavy snow. For grooming and plowing updates visit Washington State Parks winter recreation website: https://parks.state.wa.us/306/South-Cascades. For current conditions contact Cowlitz Valley Ranger District. Sno-park passes are required from December 1-March 31.  Motorized vehicles are not allowed in the adjacent Goat Rocks Wilderness. 

Directions to Johnson Creek: From Interstate 5, head east on US Highway 12 to Forest Road 21, turn south, and drive to the Forest Road 21/2130 junction.  The parking lot has a 10 vehicle parking capacity.

Skate Creek: Elevation 1550 ft. Trail system 27 miles.  https://parks.state.wa.us/306/South-Cascades. Directions from Packwood, WA -  Head east on Highway US-12 for 0.3 miles. Then go left on Skate Creek Road/Forest Road 52 and drive about 4.3 miles to the entrance to the Sno-park at the Forest Road 47/52 junction. Parking for 12 vehicles Snomobles permitted. 

Wakepish: UPDATE: Due to the significant amounts of snow fall over the past week, this sno-park has temporarily been relocated to approximately Mile Post 11.3 This location has a snow berm as a temporary barrier beyond the identified location.

Directions: 19 miles south of Randle. Highway 12 to Highway 131/Cispus Road south for 2 miles to USFS Road 25 south to USFS Rd 99 for .13 mile

Elevation: 2,800 feet 30 spaces. Trail system 17 miles groomed, 60 miles ungroomed. Shared with non-motorized recreationists, toilet, shelter with wood stove, scenic view point. Sno-Park Permit Required November thru April or as posted.
