Stevens Canyon Entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park

Mt. Rainier's southern entrance near the park's Ohanapecosh Area

2020 Summer Update: Be aware that road repair is underway on the east side of the park. Delays of up to 30 minutes in the construction areas may be encountered throughout summer. Additionally, a short section of Stevens Canyon Road is currently open to one-way, alternating traffic due to rockfall that occurred over winter.

A 19 mile road running from Cayuse Pass (Hwy 123) to Paradise, this area is known for the Ohanapecosh and Grove of the Patriarchs areas, as well as Silver Falls trailhead. Approaching Paradise from this entrance is perhaps the most picturesque route to Paradise.

This road connects the Paradise side of Mt. Rainier to Sunrise via Cayuse Pass and Chinook Pass. Access from the White Pass Scenic Byway is the best way to get to Mt. Rainier during the summer months.  Open late May through October most years.
