A favorite place for anglers and families, 399 acre Lake Scanewa, created by Lewis County PUD’s Cowlitz Falls Dam, is well stocked with rainbow trout. It is located southwest of Randle. Two parks are located along its shores, one campground and one day-use park. Typically open mid-May through mid-September.

Leonard "Bud" Allen / Cowlitz Falls Campground is only 15 miles east of Morton. Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, Gifford Pinchot National Forest are nearby with plenty of places for hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, boating, mountain climbing, and bird watching. 

The Campground covers 110 acres and provides over 100 campsites, 40 with water and electric hookups. 14 tent only sites. Individual and group campsites, restrooms, and showers are available for your comfort. A picnic area with tables and barbecue units is available. Baseball, soccer, volleyball, disk golf and horseshoes are also available. Reservations are taken for these facilities.

There are nature trails for your walking and biking enjoyment, as well as a playground for the kids. A boat launch gives boaters access to the lake. Rainbow trout are planted regularly throughout the summer. A picnic shelter can be reserved for group gatherings or activities. Open May to September.
