Morton Historical Museum & Visitor Center
The Morton Historical Museum organization prides itself in restoring and relocating the 1910 historic Morton Train Depot. A small museum and visitor center on the same property assist visitors who come to the area for the vast array of outdoor recreation such as fishing and hiking. The mission of the Morton Historical Museum is to preserve the varied and rich heritage of rural East Lewis County, including logging, mining and railroad memorabilia. Logging, timber, and railroads tell the history of the region. Stop by and hear a tale or two about years gone by from the local experts.
Located near Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens, the Morton area serves as a basecamp for supplies before heading out on an adventure. The Visitor Center is open during the summer season daily after Memorial Day 7 days a week, 10am to 4pm. Located 194 Main Street, just east of the intersection with Hwy 7.
